Taipei Free Walking Tour

1. WHERE WOULD YOU TAKE ME?

The Historic Tour covers the earliest developed area in Taipei city. Starting from Longshan Temple, the tour covers Bopiliao Historical Block, Ximen Red House, Presidential Office, 228 Peace Memorial Park and Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. From the past to the present, the Historical Tour presents a chronicle development of Taiwanese history, as well as modern characteristics of these historical sites.

The Modern Tour introduces the central commercial district of Taipei. Covering Songshan Cultural & Creative Park, Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Eslite Bookstore Xinyi Store, Taipei 101 and Four Four South Village. We reveal the hidden gems right in the heart of Taipei for you. Be prepared to be surprised by how energetic the city is!

2. WHY FREE?

Our Taipei Free Walking Tour is a non-profit initiative which operates on a pay-what-you-like model. Without the barriers brought along with a fixed price tag, we welcome backpackers with all sorts of budgets. At the same time, we do our best to maintain the quality of our tour and earn your appreciation.

3. DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION FOR THE TOUR?

In order to provide our Taipei Free Walking Tour with the best quality by accessing the attendance beforehand, we prefer a prior online registration. But showing up directly is also welcome.

4. WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Rain or shine, our Free Walking Tour goes on.
Rainy days are pretty often in Taipei. So, dress accordingly and bring an umbrella with you anyhow. Even if it doesn’t rain, an umbrella can keep you from the scorching sun. However, extreme weather conditions (i.e. typhoons) may cause delay or cancellation to our tours. Please check our Facebook page for updates.

5. WHAT IF I'M LATE FOR THE TOUR?

Please try not to be late. Any late arrivals with reservations may have their reserved spots allotted to walk-up guests.

6. WHAT IF I HAVE TO LEAVE BEFORE THE TOUR ENDS?

It’s fine. But please let us know before you go, so that we don't think you got lost or kidnapped!

7. WHAT IF I'M COMING WITH A BIGGER GROUP (10+PEOPLE)?

Please write us a reservation email in advance, so that we may arrange more guides to show you around and provide a better experience for you and your friends.

8. IS THERE A LOT OF WALKING INVOLVED?

The sites along the tours are closely located, and each within walking distance from one another. The total distance the tours cover is about 3.2 km (2 miles) on average. We walk with a relaxed pace. And you can always let us know if breaks are needed. No worries!

9. IS THE TOUR SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?

As long as they can keep up with the group, they are more than welcome!
